Bohol 101 with the Empowered Team

Bohol is a special place for me. It is the birthplace of my lolo (grandfather). And I am just so thankful for the opportunity to visit this amazing place with the most awesome people I know. We call ourselves the #EmpoweredTeam.

Why #EmpoweredTeam?

Pretty straightforward. We had a project called Empowering ME. So we just coined the term from that haha! The project aimed to engage, empower, and integrate Madrasah Educators in Muslim areas by providing transformative experiences of learning and service. But, in order to empower others, one must first empower self and invest one’s own potential to change another person’s life. And I think these amazing people are the most empowered and the most inspiring people I’ve met.

So, I’m sharing with you a summary of our three days and two nights trip to God’s Little Paradise, Bohol! Thanks to Ms. Rhiz of Rhizz Tours and Travel for arranging this memorable trip. I will never forget this trip as this is one of the most special ones I ever had. There are lots of bloopers and funny uncaptured moments during this trip! HAHA SORNA!

3D2N BOHOL ITINERARY

Day 1. Countryside Tour

Bohol is a province that has so much to offer. And it’s true that the best experiences in travelling are unexpected finds. As we arrived early in the morning, we took a quick breakfast, wash up and explore the countryside!

Here are the top attractions we visited:

  • Blood Compact Shrine
  • Bilar Man-made Forest
  • Corella Tarsier Sanctuary
  • ShipHaus (drop by)
  • Chocolate Hills
  • Simply Butterflies Conservation Center
  • Python Watching
  • Loboc River Lunch Cruise
  • Baclayon Church
  • Alburquerque Church
  • Soccoro’s (for dinner)

Day 2- Island Hopping

Island hopping to a nearby island such as Panglao is also a great way to enjoy your Bohol trip! Our Day 2 began with dolphin watching (bad sadly we never saw one hahaha) and took us to two of the most popular Bohol tourist spots: Balicasag Island and Virgin Island Panglao, a sandbank in the middle of the ocean. We went snorkelling and strolling around the Virgin Island. In the afternoon, we traveled back to the Dauis and went to Bohol Bee Farm. Not for the bees, but for the food ?.

  • Panglao Island Tour
  • Dophin and whale watching (pero WALAY DOLPHINS! haha)
  • Snorkelling
  • Balicasag Island Marine Sanctuary
  • Bohol Bee Farm
  • Hinagdanan Cave
  • Lic-Lic Su 2 Kil

Day 3- Buying Pasalubong

Of course, you shouldn’t leave Bohol without bringing some of its known goods, especially the famous “Kalamay” and peanut kisses! Kalamay (Calamay) is a sticky sweet delicacy made up of coconut milk, brown sugar, and peanuts. The peanut kisses are cookies that resemble the famous Chocolate Hills.
